November 2025 Meeting
Our November TLC meeting was a wonderful success, with 23 students in attendance! We enjoyed a potluck with a “comfort foods” theme, which gave everyone a chance to share favorite dishes and connect over good food.
The afternoon included plenty of social time, games, and conversation, helping members strengthen friendships and build our TLC community.
During our business discussion, we covered several topics:
- Prom themes – Lots of excitement here! All the details will follow.
- Teacher Appreciation Project – planning a collaboration with NHS/NJHS to celebrate our amazing staff.
- Teen Fest (Spring) – beginning early preparations for a fun and meaningful spring event.
We also took time to debrief previous and upcoming events, reflecting on what went well and identifying ways to make future gatherings even better. - TLC Jerseys

A highlight of the meeting was Yuriah’s amazing video of the Fall Ball, which everyone loved watching. It captured the fun and spirit of the evening.
Overall, it was a productive meeting filled with teamwork, creativity, and connection. We are looking forward to our December meeting, which will be a pajama party with a breakfast-themed potluck.
October 2025 Meeting
Our October Teen Leadership Committee (TLC) meeting was a huge success, with 22 students in attendance at the cozy Late Mouse Coffee Lounge. The afternoon kicked off with time to socialize over fall-themed potluck dishes and seasonal coffee drinks. Students enjoyed friendly competition with ping pong and pool before diving into the business of leadership.
We were also honored to have one of our school counselors, Lindsey Romero, join us at the meeting. We appreciate her support!
Candidates for TLC board positions delivered impressive speeches, demonstrating passion, creativity, and a strong commitment to building a thriving teen community at Cottonwood. After thoughtful voting, we’re excited to announce our newly elected TLC Board:

September 2025 Meeting
On September 22, the Teen Leadership Committee (TLC) had its first meeting. We have 31 members, of whom 15 are returning members and 16 are new to the TLC. We have representatives from 7th-12th grades.

Our meeting was filled with fun, laughter, and a little bit of business. We played an ice-breaker game led by one of our student members, gathered to share a meal (the nacho bar was so yummy), and then got down to business. We reviewed our code of conduct, talked about board member positions and responsibilities, and debriefed on Teen events that many of our members attended in both August and September.
We are excited for our October meeting, where students will have the opportunity to run for a board member position and help plan future Teen events.
